Hey! I’m Jonathan; originally from Wilton, Connecticut. I specialize in 3D animation with a concentration in character acting. On this film, I worked in several fields such as; writing, directing, modeling, animating and lighting. A year on this project flew by in an instant while working with some of the most brilliant and dedicated people I’ve ever met. It truly was an unforgettable experience. I look forward to what the future has in store for each of us.
Victor Garritano

Hey-howdy! I’m Victor and I moved from Austin, Texas to expand my knowledge of technical animation by learning about all the aspects of a film production pipeline. During this project I was so fortunate to be involved in task tracking, taking/sharing production notes, upholding our production pipeline and helping everyone on the team in almost every department; I couldn’t have asked to be on a more amazing team! I was also responsible for helping kick off Previs with proxy rigs, cloth sim, lighting, and modifying our village environment to look “destroyed”.

Hello! I’m Kevin. I am from Fort Mill, South Carolina and I’m a 3D Animator with a concentration in character animation. On this film, I animated, modeled, textured, and put together the trailer for the film. It’s been a wonderful experience to be on this project with all my other teammates and I hope to work with them all again sometime in the future.

Hi! I’m Rachel and I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’m a 3D animator, but I also used my skills in previs, prop modeling, and texturing for The Boy. I had some heavy acting and physicality shots, some crow animations, and hand-painted textures for props like the bed, the hatchet, and the mom. I also got to voice act for our main character, Lief, and put together this book. I had such a blast working with this team and will cherish the time we made this film together!

I’m Joseph, a 3D animator from Las Vegas! I mostly did 3D animation on The Boy but I also helped out with storyboarding, previs, and 2D animation!
Hello! I’m Heidi and I’m from Portland, Oregon. I’m a 3D animator and mainly led animation dailies, but I also helped texture and rig for The Boy. Early on, I helped with screen direction in the storyboards and directing cameras in previs. I helped texture the characters and some props. Some of my favorites were the teapot, the necklace, the rock pile, and Bjorn’s sword. The best part about this film was watching the team come together with unique talents and inspire each other with the effort and creativity put into every single part of this film.

Hello, I’m Thinh Nguyen, a 3D character animation student from Vietnam. Since joining The Boy, I was able to practice skills that go beyond animating in an animation pipeline such as lighting and compositing and I am extremely happy that everyone is very supportive of my progress. Working on the final touch during the proof of concept and now the full film is an experience I will never forget.
Van Vu Dat Nguyen

Hi, I am Van Vu Dat Nguyen. I am a Vietnamese student majoring in 3D Technical Animation at SCAD. In The Boy animation project, I took part as a lead 3D technical animator. I worked with my team through all pipelines of technical animation such as modeling, texturing, rigging, cloth simulation, lighting, and compositing. Working with this amazing team, I got to learn from everyone and share my knowledge with the team.
Hailey Skroch
Lead VFX Artist, Compositor
My name is Hailey Skroch and I am originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I am a 5th year at SCAD, dual majoring in Visual Effects and Animation with a Technical Concentration. I am the Lead 3D Visual Effects Artist on The Boy and was in charge of all snow, ocean, and frost simulations used in the film. I created guides to instruct team members, who were unfamiliar with SideFX Houdini, how to set up and render simulations. I also contributed to the final compositing of the film.
